The History Of Our Space
Our journey with A Milkhouse Party began when we were children. Our late grandfather, Leon M. Tice, was a dairy farmer. He and our grandmother Arlene moved to the 93 acre farm in 1959. What is now A Milkhouse Party was then his fully functioning milking parlor! Poppop loved his life on the farm, and we have wonderful memories spending time with him there.
This was never just where he "worked" - it was his life.
Our hearts were broken when Poppop passed away in 2010. For years, the milkhouse was used for storage and it pained us to sit back and watch it collect dust. After a solid 2 years of cleaning, heavy lifting, repairs, paint and patience, we were able to re-open the doors as a creative refuge. A venue for private parties and workshops, this is also a place where our mother Melanie can go and find her father again.
