Gratitude = Happiness
Gratitude leads to happiness.
It may be a simple philosophy, but there is no denying the truth of it.
At A Milkhouse Party, gratitude is a message that we receive every time we open the doors. We're grateful for the history that makes it so special to us, that fueled our renovations and inspired us to share its story. We're grateful for the patrons who support us, who want to come and learn something new or who are giving us a chance to live our dream. We're even grateful for the bumps in the road we have to face, because they make us stronger, smarter businesswomen. And man, sometimes those bumps seem like mountains.
But we are still grateful.
After all, how could you ever really appreciate the sunny days if you didn't first have to get through some storms? Because that's the real root of gratitude, isn't it? Knowing that things could be worse, knowing that we can handle the curveballs because it will be worth the homerun that we know we're going to hit. Those storms, those curveballs, or those mountains make the satisfaction of success so much sweeter. Just reading some of our recent reviews reminded us why it is that we do what we do :
When we read these experiences from our guests, we know that we are on the right track. Now, we are hoping to give back to those who have helped us to relay our message to "collaborate, create and celebrate" with our community by inviting them to share a message of their own.
Come share your story.
We've teamed up with Story Corps for an event that allows you to tell your own journey in an intimate setting. On Sunday, August 6th, we invite you to come into our special space to have "the conversation of a lifetime." Using conversation "guidelines" and recording tools given to us by the organization, you will be able to become a part of history by recording your own story to be archived at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. Your message will join hundreds of others in a nationwide collaboration to preserve the experience of mankind in our modern world.
Every journey is unique. Everyone has something special to bring to the table. Humanity is built on relationships and the paths we walk with one another, so come and contribute your piece of the puzzle, and learn more than you ever would have known about those around you. While the recordings are available to the public, the live conversation is only heard between you and whoever you choose to partner with. We encourage you to break out of your comfort zone for this experience - after all, how else are you going to be able to climb those mountains in your life?
