A B.Y.O.B. Party
(Bring Your Own Bear)
We were so excited to do some family-friendly events this summer, to really soak in those memory making moments with our kids. With all the vacations, beaches, parks and parties to go to, sometimes it's nice to bring it back to the basics for some good old fashioned fun. We thought that a backyard picnic was the best way to enjoy a sunny afternoon, and the idea for our Teddy Bear Picnic was born.
Teddy Bears seem to be a huge hit this summer, and we didn't even realize we were tapping into a trend. From the huge publicity of the Build-A-Bear "pay your age" event to the nostalgic wave from the newly released "Christopher Robin" there is something about our fluffy friends that seem to make things a little bit more pure and simple.

The Goodies
Rode's Catering gave us the perfect spread for some quick and easy lunch options that the kids could enjoy. Individual boxes made for a parents dream grab-and-go set up, with pasta salad, cheese and fresh fruit, sandwiches and adorable teddy bear cookies. Cute teddy bear "cups" were also a huge hit!
Activities Galore
There were SO MANY different ideas that applied to our picnic party, it was hard to limit ourselves! We had a bow-making station to dress up the bears, making ants with spoons and pipe cleaners, story time, and a special adventure led by Explorer Torey. We loved having a wide variety to make sure there was something for everyone, and balanced out what the kids could do themselves with something the parents could join in on.
A Special Treat
Occasionally, our parties are the same day as a special guests' birthday, and we are more than happy to help celebrate. Bonus points if you bring a dessert that matches the theme!
Priceless Moments
This event was overloaded with cuteness - from the sweet children to their favorite stuffed friends. It is always a treat to see the kids we've known from infancy mixed in with new friends who came to play. A Milkhouse Party is all about bringing people together to have a good time, and this Picnic was no exception.
